When Milwaukee tools opened new hand-tool factories in the United States, Channellock lost their biggest differentiating factor.* I proposed calling Milwaukee out on their fake “americanness” in their social comments. Let the fanboys (many passionate fans of both companies) argue in the comments.
This would drive engagement, earn media, and the fans can say the things we couldn’t re: companies manufacturing in the US.
*Channellock has been owned and operated in the USA since 1886, while Milwaukee’s 5th international holding company is now building factories in the US. This marks the first plants Milwaukee has had in the United States in decades, and the first hand-tool plant ever.
